2001-2003 Post-Undergraduate Explorations

After graduating from SAIC, I was awarded a three month log residency at Ox-Bow in Saugatuck, MI. While there I started to turn away from the work, themes, colors, and subjects that I had used for years. I created the paintings below while living in Evanston, Illinois, working at the wonderful Good’s of Evanston, and teaching myself about oil painting and the history of symbolism.
