Had some major issues with this painting. Had to regroup and get started again. It’s pretty dense right now in terms of surface, but this shot was taken right after getting back under way. We’ll see where the thing goes this week…

here’s “iconoclast” in progress… it’s looking a bit rough at this point. stages two (way down there) and three (right below) are here in any case. i’ll have to post some of the studies and sources i’ve used for this pose/idea sometime soon…

ok, ok… so it’s a bit melodramatic. still in the first working hours here, people. give me a break.

work in progress, after 6th session… some major changes going on.

another session of working last night. things starting to synch up nicely. the color in these images i’m uploading is not a very good representation of what’s actually happening on the canvas. i’ll link to a higher quality image once i’m done. probably a few more weeks.

well, it’s coming along. this is the state after the 4th session of working from the model. not the best shot, but you can see the changes from the previous stage below.
Two of the new tondos that I’ve been working on recently. Each one is 48 inches in diameter, oil on canvas on panel.
This first one “Collapse” is complete. The second piece, titled “Tether” has about 12 hours of work into it.
